  • For Yana

Have a sip of home brew.
    Tell me all about you:
what you feel and what you think,
    would you like another drink?
Give a cheer, shed a tear
    – we survived another year.
Tell me of your loves and hates,
what is past and what awaits.
Dream in light of winter moon
    shining into this cocoon.
We can hide from wind and storm
here – cosy, snug and warm.

  • Silent Night

    Some winter nights
    are like a fairy tale:
    warm amber lights
    create a shiny veil
    of snowflakes
    and puddle, forming lakes
    of glitter underneath.

    Imagine this:
the cresent of the moon is not too far,
it’s gingerbread that hangs off shiny star.
    Please take a bite –
it tastes of sweet and spice.

    The magic night –
    it happens once or twice
in life or in your head –
    who cares which?
Get out of your bed –
    it’s time to reach
    for warmest coat.
    Go and invent
    your own tale,
    the one that wasn’t meant
    to be or last,
    that’s written on the sand.
    It’s temporary, fleeting.
    Feel content.

    Accept impermanence, enjoy the ride,
inhale the warmth and go back inside.

  • Archetypes

    Fireworks over the lake –
    fairytale magic at bargain prices,
    illusion underlying reality.
They make skies darker and waters – deeper.
They raise archetypes from the depth, to loom in the dark.
    Do they frighten or comfort?
    Or both?
    You see with your mind,
    you hear with your mind,
    you feel with your mind.
What is more real – the ephemeral lights or the everlasting fears,
passed from generation to generation in blood and stories?
There is no way to tell,
    but there is a choice.

  • Halloween

Halloween is the day to face one’s fears.
Good fairy tales are designed to help you grow up.
Bad ones are designed for merchandising.

  • Happy New Year

New Year – the top of the hill, a point of change,
time to look forward and back,
    time of hope and regret,
    time to remember and forget.

  • Christmas Tree

    The magic of Christmas…
    Warmth in time of cold,
    lights in time of darkness,
    food in time of hunger,
    drink in time of responsibility…
    The most basic,
    the most primitive,
    the most human…
